Our Mission
The mission of the Michael Library is to connect the Michael community to books, information, and resources that will help enrich their learning. We want to get students, parents, and teachers excited about reading and hope to build a community of lifelong readers. About the Michael Library The Michael Library is home to approximately 12,000 books. We have Fiction, Nonfiction, Easy Fiction, Easy Nonfiction, Biography, and Reference sections available in our library. There are 11 computers for students, teacher, and community use. Students visit the for library lessons, read alouds, and book checkout. The library hosts several exciting activities each year including Book Fairs, Book Themed Pumpkin , Future Stars Storytime, Michael Book Week, and Read Across the School. |
Checkout Policy
Students Pre-K through 1st grade checkout one book each visit. Students 2nd-5th checkout two books each visit. Parents and Community Members are allowed to checkout 5 books for two weeks. Students use their student numbers for checkouts. Parents and Community Members may visit the library to create a library account. Late, Lost, or Damaged Books Policy The Michael Library does not charge for overdue books no matter how long you have had the book. We love when books are returned! Late notices are typically sent home once a month to help students and parents in their search of finding the book. If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair (usually any type of liquid damage will cause a book to be damaged beyond repair), the user is asked to pay for the replacement cost of the book. Our goal is for students to be able to checkout books every time they visit the library, so please see Mrs. Robison if a book is lost or damaged to clear the account. |
